Santa's House

Another week gone by. Not much fun when the kids are sick. Nathan's turn this week. Here is his Christmas canvas. He did such a fantastic job. The kids had so much fun doing these. Must be my turn next.

Had a great afternoon. Justin and I had a chance to get out together and go for a ride. Huge headwind which made it difficult for me but great to get out there. Justin was so good to ride with. He has done so much riding I felt a bit bad as I am just getting into it but he was just happy to get out together. Time to put the kids to bed. xoxo

singing in the rain

Bringing back the memories. N has been sick so to cheer him up and to give him something new to watch I went and got the singing in the rain dvd and we sat down together and watched it. The kids were glued to it and watched it over and over again. It brought back so many memories of my mum. On weekends we would sit together and watch the old musicals like singing in the rain, seven brides for seven brothers, showboat etc. It just feels so great to be able to share these times with my own children. I hope in twenty/ thirty years time they will look back at the times we shared and have fond memories.
C has been so excited about Christmas, especially now that all the decorations are in the shops. She wanted to do a special xmas canvas. Here is her finished product. She was so proud of it.

Grey's Night In

Another great episode of greys tonight. I so love that show. We had apple crumble for our Grey's dessert which was just perfect especially as it was a little cooler here in Brisssssie today.
Really tired tonight though so might have to hit the sack despite wanting to stay up and catch up on some stuff. I seem to be getting deeper and deeper into the fun of blogs! Once you start, it's hard to stop. xoxo

Weekends go too fast

Another Sunday evening and the week end is coming to a close. They just go way too fast. Had a fun weekend despite C still being sick. Finally she woke this morning feeling well!

J took the kids to the beach today so I could have some time to get some things done. Have fallen behind with the housework with having C sick for the past four days. So much fun trying to play catch up when the kids are at home so J went to my Dad's place at the beach. I was able to do a quick page this morning and I mean quick. Really cute photo of H!

Went to the craft fair on Sat and had a great time. Met some really clever people and came home with so many great ideas. All I need now is the fulltime nanny, cleaner and ironing lady so I can do all these great things and everything will be sweet! Ha! Ha!

Time for dinner!xoxo

finally

Hooray!! I finally got some scrapping done. What spurred me on? Nathan did his first page yesterday so I decided I couldn't let him get the better of me. Nothing like a competitive streak to get you motivated.

Even if it is with a 5 year old. Nathan had a ball and didn't do too badly for his first attempt. The page I did of Nathan is one I have been trying to do for months. Not too sure about it but I am putting it in the album and considering it done.

Have had a crazy 24 hours. H woke around 2am and decided it was party time, got him back to sleep around 3am then C woke up with temps. and a pain in the tummy. Got her back to sleep around 4 and then the alarm went off at 5. I forgot I had set it to go for a run this morning so as I was awake I went. I've got dancing tonight so I will be exhausted by the time I hit the sack.

Didn't get to the craft fair today as C stayed home from Kindy, hopefully will get there on Saturday. xoxo

back to normal

Have had so much fun over the past few days. The wedding on Saturday was a lot of fun.
Here a couple of pics of the groom - my cousin and one of J & I all dressed up. It's so nice to be able to get all dolled up. Don't do it enough. My bro. and his wife came up from Adelaide and stayed with us for a few days, which was great. I don't get to see them enough and the kids really love spending time with them. The time went too quickly though. We hung around by the pool, went shopping, out for dinner and visited my Grandma. Just great fun! Am feeling a bit tired today. Have heaps of cleaning to do so will spend the day catching up on the jobs! May even get a chance to scrap! xoxo

Love & Marriage

Wanted to do some scrapping tonight but J reminded me we have the wedding tomorrow and I had to make a card. I whipped up a quick one but I'm pretty happy with it's simplicity and I'm loving these colours at the moment. My brother and his wife will be here soon as they are staying for the week-end as it is a cousin's wedding so it should be a fun if not busy week-end. Looking forward to it. The kids are sleeping in our room on the camping mattress so that will be interesting especially when the baby wakes for his morning feed at 4am. My brother and his wife don't have any children yet so this wk/end will either encourage or discourage them depending on how well my three behave.
Visited my Grandma at the nursing home today and was told that she went for a bit of a wander down the street last night at 2am. She managed to get out of her bed and out the locked doors and was heading off to who knows where when they found her. I'm still not used to her being there and it gets me pretty upset everytime I visit her there. She seems like a different person from the Grandma I know. Not that she is upset about being there it's more the state of her mind that is hard to deal with. Keen to see how she goes tonight.
Off to clean my study before guests arrive. xoxo

Fun in the Sun

Here are some pics from our day at the beach. We had such a fantastic day. I really need to make sure we do this more frequently. N didn't even stop for lunch until 2pm - first time for everything. Both N and C played so well together. The water looks so flat in these photos yet there was a small wave which the kids thought was huge and they had so much fun "catching" the waves. H was funny. I discovered he doesn't like sand on his feet. He would cry each time I put his feet down. I was the exact same when I was a baby so at least he will grow out of it. Have had a huge week end. I thought it was going to be a quiet one but ended up being bust as. We had a garage sale at G's place which was great fun - still have heaps of stuff to get rid of but at least the big items have gone.
Spent the afternoon shopping today. Always wonderful therapy. Never enough time though. I was buying some shoes and the guy asked if I had any more shopping to do and I asked him what time the shops closed and he said in 30 mins. I had been shopping for 4 hours!! Where does the time go.
Kids back to school this week. Yeah! Although we have been so busy I feel like we need to take a holiday!
Family up from Adelaide on Friday for the week end so really looking forward to that. Should be a fun wk/end as they are staying with us. The kids are very excited! xoxo

I've Been Tagged!!!

Yes, I've been tagged. I didn't even know what that meant until 30mins ago. I need to list 5 weird things about myself or my pet(don't have one - so I guess it will be about me) and then tag and list 5 other people. I don't even know 5 people with their own blog yet so I guess if anyone wants to do this, feel free. Anyway, here are my 5:

1. I am obsessed with closed cupboards. I can't go to sleep if I know there is a cupboard door open somewhere in the house. Even if J goes to the toilet in the middle of the night I will get up after him and close it. What's with that? Book me in with a therapist now!

2. I have a mini big toe nail on my left foot. My toe nail fell off after kicking it on the bed and this small one is growing back. Gross!!

3. Before eating an apple, I twist the stem and keep twisting it until it comes off. Fairly normal I hear you say, until I tell you that as I twist I say the names of the week and whatever day it comes off on that is the day I will have good luck.

4. I love freezing cold milk. I can't take the milk out of the fridge to put on my cereal until the last minute as I think it will get warm in the 30 seconds it takes to fill my bowl with the cereal.

5. I sometimes bake at 3.00 in the morning when the whole house is sound asleep. If I wake during the night and can't get back to sleep, I give myself an hour to fall back and if I can't, I will go down and bake for an hour or so and then I can get back to sleep.

Not sure which one of those is weirdest, and I'm sure to get some strange looks or laughs from people I know who will read this. But if we can't laugh at ourselves then what is fun all about.

Getting late, need to get to bed. xoxo

Awesome Day

Wow. What an awesome day. Have finally found a place for my Grandma. Went to see a place today and had to decide whether to accept it or not. Said Yes and then cried. I'm not sure whether from relief or uncertainty. Anyway, we move her in on Friday. Went to visit her this afternoon to tell her about the new place and left N with her while I went back to the car to get her some clothes I'd washed and came back in to hear N telling her all about this new place she will be going to. Here I was trying to work out the best way to tell her that she would be going to a nursing home and there was N telling it to her straight. LOL. The innocence of children.

Managed to finish a page today. yeah! Really loved doing this one. Everything came together so easily. Even J appreciated this one. He came and looked at it and then gave me a kiss! That's the kind of recognition that really matters!!!

School holidays are going by too quickly. I feel like I have been so busy that the children haven't really had a break. So tomorrow, am taking them to the beach. I don't know who is more excited, them or me. J is off to Sydney for the day, so there is no need for us to rush home so we can stay all day!! The weather here this time of year is perfect. xoxo

Ultimate Girl's Party

What a way to finish a busy weekend. I went to a fabulous party where you could buy handbags, shoes, belts and jewellry this afternoon. Obvioutsly, no boys allowed!!! I bought a gorgeous pink belt and some pretty sparkly green earings. It was a lot of fun.
J was busy putting a roof on the kids fort, just in time for the summer heat will have to take some pics.
The kids and I went swimming although the pool is still a little chilly for me but N stayed in for about 2 hours.
One more week of the school holidays to go. Yeah! Hoping to get a day at the beach this week with the kids which should be nice. It's just trying to fit it all in. Time to hit the sack. xoxo
