Catch Up Time

I have heaps of photos to share. As always, when the kids get sick something has to give so this time it was blogging.
A couple of weekends ago, Chloe had her mini concert for Dance. She was sick on that weekend but was determined to dance and she enjoyed every minute of it. As did we watching her!
Last weekend we had Ben & Vanessa over for dinner and of course a round of Singstar. Ben was too funny and decided to hog the mics. And Justin found someone who could challenge him to the Diva title. We had a really fun night.
This is a photo of Hayden helping me in the kitchen during the week - not too sure how much help he actually was as he kept eating the mixture.
Nathan's turn for dancing. The grade two's have been learning dance at school all term so we got to view a presentation class. Nathan was right into it!
We got out on the boat on Sunday. We decided to cruise the Brisbane river. It was a perfect day. The water was glassy. We stopped under the story bridge so the kids could have a chance to explore and I got to take some pics!!
Today was the start of the school holidays. We sat down this morning and did up a calendar of all the things the children wanted to do on the holidays. Today was a train ride. We got on at Toombul and went to Sandgate where we could feed the ducks and have a picnic lunch. It was a really fun day. Hayden was very excited about getting on the train. However, when we got on he was a little bit frightened and held onto the chair so tightly and kept saying "scary mummy, scary!" But after a couple of minutes he was fine.
Funny story to share - Early this morning we had someone come to take the boat away to install a wiper and just as the guy was heading off with the boat in tow, Hayden said to me (in front of the man) "where man take my boat?" The guy cracked up but Hayden was not impressed! He loves 'his' boat.
Anyway, I think that is everything up to date for the moment. Although we have plenty of things planned for the holidays so no doubt there will be more photos to share. xoxo

Dress Ups

Thursday has become my favourite day of the week. It is the one afternoon we have nothing on after school. Chloe had croup last night so I kept her home from school and although I had to fight to keep her from going to school (I will see how long that love of school lasts!) she had a really nice day at home. The afternoon was spent doing dressups and dancing around the backyard - Hayden included although getting a photo of him (as proof of course for his 21st!) was a little difficult. Whereas Chloe was saying "take a photo of me with my leg like this or my arms up here......" so camera shy!

We got out on the boat on the weekend despite the ordinary weather in Brisbane. We took some friends to Bribie on Sat and some other friends out on Monday to Deep Water Bend. Both days were wet so the clears were up however it didn't stop the ski tubing action. Our friends on Sat brought their kneeboard with them which was fantastic fun although quite a few stacks and a huge number of bruises. I had to visit the skin specialist yesterday and I explained all the bruises on me straight up just in case he started making phone calls to the right/wrong people!!!! They also brought their ski tube which meant we had two tubes going at the one time. I wish I had taken my camera on Saturday as it was so funny to see the kids out playing bumper tubes. Nathan was so determined to get Justin off - no luck of course!

Monday - wet again but still everyone got a turn out on the tube. Chloe led the way this time - I was very proud of her. Her confidence on the boat is growing each time we go out! She told me later that next time she goes out she is going to put her thumbs up for Justin to go faster. Such great times......xoxo
