I finished a Layout!!!!

I can hardly believe it. Finally, I have finished a layout. This is from a workshop I did with Lynette from K&Company. It was awsome. Really loved the products from the new range. Found this beautiful picture of Mum that just finished the layout off perfectly. It feels so good to be getting back into everything.
School holidays have started and would you believe it decides to rain now. We went to the local video store today as they have $2 Tuesday so the kids got a couple of DVD's as a treat (for me as well as them!!) I kind of want to say I hope the rain stops tomorrow but we badly need it so I can't complain. May have to make a trip to the local library as tomorrow's "keep busy without getting wet" activity!
That's it for now. xoxo

Mini Concert

We have been so busy the past couple of days. Chloe had her mini concert on Saturday and we went to Mooloolaba on Sunday.
I was so proud of Chloe at her concert. She was very excited and very grown up. I was able to leave her in the dressing room while I went into the hall to watch her - the first time for this. Big step for C. Took lots of pics so will only post a couple but will have to get around to scrapping the rest.

I realised today that I forgot to post my card that I did during the week. This week's theme was Remember When... I was thinking of using a photo of the four of us when we went on a family holiday to Canberra in 1985 but decided on doing the wedding photo of J and I. It was fun to think back on such a special and perfect day. I took the pics without a flash so the light isn't all that great and has made the card look yellow - it was supposed to look cream with pale blue as that was the colours we had for our wedding. Oh well!! Enjoy!

Heaps of pics.

Yeah! Have had a very productive day today. Getting motivated in all areas of my life right now. Finally got back into doing work last night, totally re-organized my scrap/office area, and took heaps of photos today. This blog is to post photos. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to do. Am now wanting to do heaps more. I think I might try setting aside 1 day a week that is just for taking photos! As they say - practise makes perfect! This is the coop that J built for the chickens - he was not keen on getting the chicks at first but now is right into them.

Here are three of our "girls" roaming around the backyard.

Beautiful girl - messy hair and all! C's friend Ella. These girls are the best of friends it is so cute to see.

H is just so easy going. Has to have something to do with being no. 3.

Very cheeky!

These are some penholders I made today for the children's art area. I will be keen to see how long they stay this tidy. LOL! This is my second shirt I made the other night. I'm having so much fun with these.

That's all for now. I need to go and get my card for this week done and I also want to make another shirt and do some work. Hmmm, somehow I don't think all this is going to happen. Oh well! xoxo

T-Shirt Fun

Have just had the most amazing weekend. The Gift Shop at the Carnival yesterday went extremely well and we are all still on a high. I couldn't sleep last night my head was still spinning with thoughts and ideas for the next one and then today I pulled out an old t-shirt from the cupboard and had a bit of fun with it.

This is totally addictive and am keen to do some more. Might just have to clean the cupboard out and give all my t-shirts a fresh look. xoxo

Treasure each Memory

Here is my Deck of Me Card for this week. The prompt was Right Now.... We had Grandma's funeral on Thursday and my thoughts "right now" are fairly emotional. On the back I have put the eulogy I wrote, in the envelope, which will be amazing to read when I look back later. It was
straight from the heart and when it's not so hard I will scrap a tribute to a woman who was a generous, caring, strong and beautiful soul. Night all. xoxo

On Top of the World

I am really feeling on top of the world at the moment. Yesterday I had my final appointment with my Dr who was helping me with PND. It seemed so odd to be finished with it after nearly 4 years yet so fantastic at the same time! I am so grateful to this man who helped get me through this. It is so surprising how many women develop this and yet don't seek help or don't know how to seek help. Even just in my circle of friends there are so many of us who have had PND! At least we are all there to help each other. The power of women!!!

Yesterday was my friend's birthday so I looked after her youngest boy. He is so cute and such a great little kid. We went to playgroup first and then drove back home. He was so excited about coming back to our house. Unfortunately, the boys both fell asleep in the car before reaching home so I left them to sleep there while I sat and listened to the radio for about 1/2 hour until we had to go back and pick N up from school. Such angels. I promise you can play at our house next time Bai!

Nothing Like a Week or So at Home

The day started off very exciting. I took all three kids back to the Doc today hoping to get the okay. What was I thinking. N's infection has gone to his lungs (same as he had this time last year!)so we are on to some stronger med. and off school until next week. C's ears are filled with fluid so we have to have them checked over the next three months to make sure they clear otherwise it's grommets for her. H was the best of them all. Only two more days of his medication and he should be fine. Yeah! Went to N's school today and got some work from his teacher so he doesn't miss out on too much school work.

On the way home from school we were talking about how long we have been alive. The conversation went like this.

N: Mum, how long have I been alive for?

Mum: How old are you?

N: 6

Mum: Well that is how long you have been alive for.

C: I'm 4

Mum: That's right C. So you have been alive for 4 years.

C: How old are you Mummy?

Mum: Mummy is 35 so I have been alive for 35 years.

N: Oh man, you're gonna die soon.

Gotta love them!

Here are a few pics of some things I've been up to in my "spare time".

This is Canvas No: 3 for C's room.
This is a card I made for 1 of N's friends. Did it fairly quickly so not entirely happy with it but sometimes you can be too picky I guess.

These are some notebooks I have made for some friends who helped me out with my recovery recently. It's so nice to have some thoughtful friends.

Time for bed! xoxo

ANZAC Day - Lest We Forget

Today was a really great day. We started the morning early by joining in the Anzac Day March at Chermside. N was so excited when everyone clapped and cheered as he walked past the watching crowd. There were plenty of army officers and they also had a Fly Past which N thought was too noisy. We might try and get replicas of his Great Grandfathers (on both sides) medals for him to wear next year. I was really proud of him!

We then went to Bunyaville Forest Park which is so close to our home yet we only ever go there a couple of times a year. We took all the sporting gear and the kids had so much fun. We played Football, Cricket, Tennis, Frisbee....everything. We even managed to squeeze in a quick bushwalk. I love family days like these. They are always so special.

Thankfully N is feeling better. Off to the Doc. tomorrow morning to get an update on his ear and then hopefully he can go to school for a few hours in the afternoon! Yeah!

Well, that's it for tonight. Have done some crafty things today but haven't taken any pictures yet so will do that tomorrow! Might just have to go to bed early tonight! J made N & C a cubby house each in their rooms so they are sleeping in them tonight. Remember the fun of being a kid!!! xoxo

Art Journal Challenge - Week 16

This week's challenge was - Get someone else to contribute. I gave the eldest two their own mini card and they got busy "scrapping".
C wanted to fill the whole card with a million embellishments and took about 1/2 an hour to do hers while N was finished in about 10 minutes.

I attached their cards to mine and made a little mini book with them all. Check it out!

Busy Weekend

Have had a busy weekend. Went and got some seedlings to get a vegie garden going. C loves olives so we decided to buy an olive tree. Mind you it takes about 5 to 7 years before it fruits. On Sunday morning she woke up and asked if she could check the tree for any olives. It's going to be a long 5 years! LOL! N is into carrots so we got him some seedlings. He only needs to wait 12 to 15 weeks. Although that waiting will probably kill him. We set the garden up right near the tank so we can water it from the tap that J set up. It is so great to have the garden again. We used to have a huge vegie patch at our old place and got so much enjoyment out of going out and picking veg to put into dinner that night. My Dad was a legend in the backyard vegie patch so I will no doubt be calling on him to give me tips on soil and pests etc.

Saturday night we went to a friends 30th birthday dinner at Fix! restaurant in the city. Beautiful food and a fun night. This is the card I made for Sarcha. Not too late a night though as I'm not quite up to dancing yet so we came home after dinner which was just as well. Within 1/2 an hour of getting home I was up at the Children's hospital with C - ear infection and croup!

Have put a couple of my fav pics from our holiday in Adelaide. Must get going on an album for the trip. In my spare time! Have a great Monday! xoxo

Pete's 60th Birthday

Sunday 15th was my FIL's 60th Birthday. He had a fun party for it with rellies and friends. Pete is such a great man, he works so hard and is very committed to everything he does. He loves his grandchildren dearly and they him. Here are some pics of a mini album (come card) I did for his birthday. Had to make do with what I had at home as not being able to race out to the LSS because of the surgery made it a little difficult. However, I was really pleased with it. We love you POP!
