Weekend at Home

Finally a weekend at home. Without the boat we had to change all our plans for the weekend which let us get a few things done around the house and gave us plenty of time for staying in PJ's for a little longer than normal (Hayden - all day long! Whoops!)

Nathan had an art class with some friends at the State Library today with Rachael Tonkins - a botanical artist. He really loved it. They were taken on a walk and taught how to draw different types of leaves, plants, trees etc. We then had a picnic lunch outside the Library near the river before heading home.

I took some photos of the kids at their tennis lesson during the week. They are both getting very
good and love their coach, Laura.

Time to head to bed.....xoxo

Weekend Bliss

We had a great weekend busy but fun. Saturday after Nathan's football game we decided to go to the coast for the weekend. We caught up with some friends at Buderim on Sunday which ended up in the big boys having a game of ping pong - too funny - they were so competitive. For lunch we headed up to North Shore. We got the river ferry from Tewantin which the children loved and then drove out onto the beach. This is the first time we have taken the car onto the beach. The kids thought it was very funny to be driving on the beach. The water was spectacular. The colour was amazing and so perfect. Here are a couple of pics from the day........
Justin's first attempt at 4wd on the beach! Cool! Can't wait to go again.
Chloe was so excited she couldn't stop dancing.
Nathan decided to try out a bit of Karate.
The water really was beautiful. The photos don't show how incredible it was.

Crazy Day

Today at school the children had Crazy Day to help raise some money to aid the people of Burma after the terrible cyclone disaster last fortnight. Aside from the benefit of raising money for people in need it was great to have a break in the regular routine of school for the children. Nathan and Chloe were so keen to go to school this morning.

They had both decided what they wanted to be yesterday which meant coming up with something that would closely resemble for Chloe - a Ladybug and Nathan - a clown. Why couldn't they say "Hey Mum, why don't we just wear odd socks!!" No such luck in this crazy household.

So here is Chloe in her Ladybug outfit. Since last year Chloe has been saying she wants a Ladybug party when she turns 6 so she decided to get an early start on the whole Ladybug theme.

How great is this....Nathan was so excited about dressing up as a clown. However, when it came time to getting in the car to go to school, he spent the whole time with his head down so no one would see him. When we got to school (where everyone knows him) he didn't care who saw him.

Hayden decided he needed to get into the act too. So while I was taking photos of the other two, he went upstairs and came back down with his builder's hat and asked for his photo to be taken.

They had such a fun day! Nathan came home with his bow ripped off his shirt and his pants split too (mental note - must take sewing lessons before attempting to make anymore costumes! Should have known to make them so they would stand up to a game of chase at lunch time!) Have a great weekend all......xoxo

Mother's are Special

Such a Happy Mother's Day. I had a truly wonderful day today - thank you Justin and kids. A day of feeling totally appreciated and being totally spoiled! The children's presents & cards from school were very cute. I also got a book called "You're a fabulous mum!", a new purse, a bracelet and a cooking course at Spirit House (super cool-have wanted to do this for ages!). We had a real family day today. Nothing fancy, just fun, lots of giggles and lots of hugs. Here are some of my fav pics of the day.

The day was tinged with a slight sadness as this was the first year I celebrated Mother's Day without Mum or Grandma. Never easy to celebrate a special day without the special people who helped make me who I am today. On that philosophical note..........

The kids had Cross Country on Friday at school. They both did so well. Nathan asked me on the way to school if I would be proud of him if he came in last. I told him of course I would be and that I would be proud of him just doing it. He said he might have to walk some of it and I told him it didn't matter as long as he finished it and gave it his best. Well he blew me away. He ran the whole way, including the big hill and finished long before I thought he would. Chloe, as always had fun - she loves running. Here are a couple of pics of the two to of them.

That's it from me. xoxo

Long Weekend

Another long weekend. We have been spoilt yet again. Two long weekends in a row. I wish we had three day weekends all the time. It's so much more relaxing! We started the weekend off with football on Friday night with Nathan. He is really loving the football games. This is a photo of him playing in his second game.
Nathan then had a sleep over at a friends house and Chloe had a friend come to sleep at our place. The girls had such a great time. They were just so quiet! Made a nice change to the house. They did scrapbooking, dressups, dancing, craft and cooking all afternoon. On Sunday, we went down to the Broadwater on the boat. Such a perfect day to go. We did some cruising around the canals and then some tubing. Justin tried his best to get me off the tube, and although I 'flew' through the air a couple of times I managed to hang on. I can't wait to get my boat licence so I can get him back!! Nathan was taken outside the wake on the tube for the first time which is actually a really brave thing to do as it is a pretty rough ride. We were so proud of him and he loved every minute of it.

Today was spent doing bits and pieces around the house and then we headed off down to Shorncliffe with a couple of the children's friends for the afternoon. Having been trying to take more photos over the past couple of weeks. Took this great photo of Justin and Hayden-who is at that difficult age to get photos of!! So you have to be pretty quick and take lots of photos and hope that one turns out. Anyway....have a great week! xoxo
