Deck of Me Card - Week 8

Wow, another week gone by already. I always know when I have been too busy when I come to post and it's been a week since the last one. (Sorry Dad, I know you like to keep up to date.) Have just finished my card for Week 8. This week's challenge was "What you miss". For me, it had to be Mum. Even after 12 years, there are still those moments when you wish for the one you love to be with you again. I wrote some of those moments on my card but reality is there are so many of them, some of them so small you wouldn't think they would matter but they do. Like when you are doing the washing and you have no idea how to get a stain out or when your daughter needs to have the perfect bun for ballet and you can't get the knots out and you have 1 minute to do it in....

Anyway, here's my card....a fairly simple one this week but that was Mum, she wasn't all ribbons and bows. I love you Mum! xoxo

Shoes,Shoes,Shoes

Here is my take on the card for Week 7. The subject this week was shoes. Anyone who knows me would know that this would be a no brainer for me as I have had a thing for shoes since I was little. However, I chose ballet shoes, as these shoes played a big part in my life for such a long time and the memories I have of these shoes are precious. (Despite the pain they cause when worn!!!)

Chloe's Fish

Busy day today doing....wait for it.....housework! I seem to be dragging my tail a little bit today. Heaps to do yet no motivation to do it. Went and visited the naturapath today and got a great result! Huge improvement in my health! It was worth going without the mangoes.....well almost!LOL!

Finally got around to replacing C's fish which managed to find it's way into C's toybox courtesy of N! Here is a pic of her new fish. I asked her what she would like to call it and she said "C's fish". There you go - sums her up beautifully. Let's see how long this one lasts!

Took some pics of H taking his first steps. He is still wobbly but we have decided to declare him "walking" at 13 months. He is so cute when he does it as he has this huge grin on his face and then he launches himself at you at the end.

Happy Love Day

Happy Valentine's Day. Gotta love a day that's set aside just for LOVE. This year was more about the sentiments then the gifts in our house.

This is the card I made for J. I wrote the poem on the front which reads....

With eyes to see

and ears to hear.

With words to make

our feelings clear.

With hands to touch

and lips to taste

The smells of love won't

go to waste.

Though love can come

through senses five

Surely the heart is

where love resides.

So take my heart

and never part

From love so true.

I do love you!

Not too sure whether it is correct as far as poetry goes, but J loved it! I also managed to do a LO of the two of us. (Believe in LOVE). I've had such a beautiful day! Hope you did too! xoxo

DH & Brothers & Sisters

Just had a girls night watching Desperate Housewives and the new series Brothers and Sisters. I am really loving this new series - so easy to get into. Also managed to finish my card for Week 6. The theme this week was love. So appropriate with Valentine's Day just around the corner. Time to get to bed. xoxo

My Life is Fun

Wow, huge weekend to end a huge week. It has been such a big week - My Birthday, Mum's Anniversary (12 years), J's Birthday & a Dinner Party.

We had a dinner party at home on Saturday night to celebrate both our Birthdays. It was so much fun - I love Birthdays. Here are a couple of pics....

Happy Birthday to Me

Wow, another year gone! I have had such a fun day today. It started around 6.15 with presents, cards and brekkie in bed. Then the mad dash to school and kindy to drop the kids before making my way to my very good friends house for a special birthday surprise. We get down to the Hypermarket and she tells me she has booked us in for pedicure's. I start sweating and quickly mumble something about getting a bottle of water before coming back to tell her how I can't handle having my feet touched as they are really ticklish. But I was up for it. Let me tell you, the poor guy trying to do my feet couldn't help but laugh. My toes would curl up or I'd try and jerk my foot away each time he touched them. It was so funny, I almost cried.

Here is the end result. Such beautiful feet! Thanks C, I will always remember this day!

After lunch and a bit of shopping, the day ended with a "fabulous" cake from J. Apple Tea Cake -LOL! Thanks J - you are great!

The kids even helped J paint a sign to put on the door for me.

I had so much fun today. One of those birthday's that really feels like a birthday! Yay! Back to reality tomorrow.

Will be able to show the things for the Design Team for CraftOnline hopefully tomorrow. Just waiting on a couple more images and then it should be up for all to see. The products this month were so easy to use and there were endless possibilities -I just ran out of time. Anyway, gotta go. Heaps to do! xoxo

Long Long Ago

A long time ago, there was a girl who loved to blog. She would keep everyone up to date with what was going on in her family's life and then one day she disappeared to who knows where..... Anyway, she's back!!

Sorry about the long winded intro there. But it has been a while. So much has been going on that there hasn't been time to put it all down. Here is a brief catch up...we had my Mother-in-law's 60th Birthday the weekend after Hayden's Birthday. It was a fun evening. They had it catered for and the food was yum! Here are some pics of the 'card' I made. I asked everyone to tell me things about V and some of the things the kids said were very funny.

The weekend after the party was Australia Day so we decided to go camping with some friends. We had so much fun. We are a bit light on in the equipment department but it was fine. J and I got divorced about 5 times trying to put the tent up without instructions. LOL! We decided to call a truce for the rest of the weekend! We went to a place halfway between Lennox Heads and Ballina (no not Tinkerbell Caravan Park, Scott!) I can't wait to go again. We are hoping to do some more on the May long weekend.

The big news for me is my date for surgery - Monday 2nd April!! Just after we get back from Adelaide. Can't wait!

N started school on Tuesday this week which was just amazing. My little boy is all grown up. I had a heart wrenching moment in the car on the way there on his first day but otherwise all was fine. He was so ready for it. I asked him what his teacher was like, after the first day and his response was... Well, she has brown hair, and a brown skirt with a black shirt....I said, no that's what she looks like, I meant, was she nice and his reply was.. Yeah, but she's a bit bossy and she's not even the big boss!LOL!!

Well that's the latest from here. I am aiming to get back on track now and keep things up to date. We'll see.

Happy 1st Birthday

Just over one year ago, J and I went to the movies and saw Dick and Jane (I think that's what it was called) with Jim Carey in it and I can't remember the girl's name. Not a particularly great movie but I will always remember it as it was the night before we went in to have baby number 3. On Wednesday, H turned 1! Hip Hip Hooray!! It was a fun day. We had a small birthday party for him with his Nonna and Pop that night and then yesterday morning he had his big party.

I love making a fuss of the children's birthdays and always have fun doing something special for them. Here are some pics from the party.

This was his cake (picked by Chloe) and surprisingly easy to make! Yeah!

The table had these really cute boxes that I put the food into instead of having plates for the kids. Don't know if you can tell but the weights for the balloons were bags of popcorn which each child got to take home with them.

Hayden enjoyed a chocolate crackle and everyone who cuddled him got some too! LOL!

He was so focused on the candle and the sparkler on his cake.

The kids played lots of games and went swimming. It was lots of fun. C was a little grumpy, probably wanted it to be her party, but you get that.

We then had drinks and dinner with friends in the afternoon/evening so it was a huge day for everyone. Today is going to be a very quiet one! See Ya! xoxo

Back to Reality

Everyone is back to reality this week. We got back from the coast on Sunday. We had such a cool time. Mooloolaba is such a lovely spot. The kids want us to sell B'Downs and move up there. I wish! It wasn't all fun and games though. We got to spend an evening at Nambour Hospital as Chloe managed to split the back of her head so they had to glue it. Took a photo of it but won't post it as it's not the nicest photo. Got to have proof though! She was very brave and I was so proud of her. She decided that she couldn't sleep on her side or tummy so she spent the first night sleeping on my tum. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep.

The kids tried out their new boogie boards and had so much fun, it was great to see the big smiles on their faces and the excitement of catching a wave. N has decided when he gets a bit bigger he could stand up on it. Can't wait for that.

Have finally got around to doing some scrapbooking. Yeah!! Such a fun photo of C doing what she does best.

Still working on some canvases for C's room. So will hopefully get some done this week although with H's Birthday tomorrow I don't like my chances. See Ya! xoxo

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. Wow, how fantastic is this time of year. We have had such a ball. Where do I start. Christmas was great fun, catching up with family and friends is always wonderful. We headed up to the coast on Boxing Day to a couple of days of wet weather but then it was absolutely perfect. We came home for New Year's Eve which was so much fun. We were supposed to go to a party but the host got sick so it was cancelled. We ended up "gate crashing" another party which was just hilarious. After the children had had their countdown at 9pm the adults got to party. We belted out song after song on Sing Star. It was soooo bad - I can say that, I was the only one who was sober. To everyone else it sounded great. This is how bad it was - Justin actually reckons he "nailed" Whitney Houston. LOL!!! It was the funniest New Year's Eve Party- just great friends, great food, great night.

We had another party last night with the neighbours, which was fun also but we are a little partied out at the moment. The kids have been fantastic though and enjoying every second of it!

Hayden had his first chocolate over the Christmas break. He definately takes after his father - love of chocolate not the messy eating thing.

I am taking the children back up to the coast for another week tomorrow while Justin has to work - sorry hon! Justin and I are going to the movies tonight though so I hope that makes up for it.

Xmas is fun

Have been busy but having fun. Being organised with presents this year has meant more time for doing fun things with the kids. We iced some Christmas biscuits - the kids did the ones on the right!! and then I think they were eaten as quickly as they were made.

I've posted a picture of a corkboard that I did for Grandma (check it out Scott) for Christmas. I'm really happy with it. I'm going to put it above her bed in the nursing home and I think she will love it. I've had lots of fun making things this year for Xmas. Next year I might try starting a little earlier though. Last night we had a girl's catch up and gave presents that we had made to each other. It was really fun! It was interesting to see everyone's creative side! As one of my friends said - it feels like Xmas now.

I had to post a photo of C and how she went to the shops yesterday. She woke up and said she wanted to be Rudolph today - as you do. The dress she had on only just covered her undies and she probably should've had some shorts on underneath but that's not what Rudolph wears apparently. LOL! She is just so funny.xoxo
